3X Representation in the 2021 Gartner Market Guide for Cloud Office Migrations

Triple down to ensure Cloud Office migration success

Some of the best things come in groups of threes. Musketeers. Amigos. Star Wars trilogies. And now migration organizations? Let me explain.

For a second consecutive time, Gartner has named Quest as a Representative Vendor in its 2021 Market Guide for Cloud Office Migration Tools. But not just once. The Gartner guide also includes Binary Tree and Quadrotech as Representative Vendors. Both of these organizations joined the Quest family in 2020, and we’re honored to have three of our brands listed in the Gartner report.

With three analyst-recognized migration organizations under one roof, Quest has become a migration powerhouse. Our triumvirate of migration solutions allows you to move all workloads with speed, accuracy and granular control – with little to no disruption to end users.

What does that mean for IT pros like you? It means you now have a single resource you can rely on for any and all migrations to Office 365. One solution family is good. Two is better. And three means that no workload is left behind. No other vendor in the Gartner 2021 Market Guide for Cloud Office Migration Tools was included three times.

Why are industry analysts across IT recognizing the Quest family of migration solutions? Here are some of the reasons why:

1. Migration expertise

We learned it for you so you don’t have to learn it the hard way. For more than 30 years, Quest has seen nearly every migration – scenario, source and target, workload, and level of complexity – resulting in extensive institutional knowledge that can only be gained through decades of experience. We’ve seen it all, and as a result, you’ll take fewer risks with your migration.

2. Breadth of migration capabilities

We got this. Quest’s capabilities extend across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud scenarios, as well as Active Directory, Microsoft 365 tenant, email, and content migrations. Furthermore, a single resource can help simplify migration planning, which ultimately helps you overcome unforeseen challenges and finish your migration projects faster.

3. More than migration

Microsoft challenges go beyond migration; Quest is there to help strengthen your cyber security resilience and stay in control of your environment with management and security tools for pre- and post-migration.

Gartner’s recommendations for Office 365 and other cloud migrations

More and more organizations are migrating to cloud office platforms due to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures or simply the desire to seize the benefits of cloud-based collaboration services. As such, Gartner’s second Market Guide for Cloud Office Migration Tools aims to help decision makers ease the transition to these services. In addition to outlining evaluation criteria for third-party migration tools and showing which vendors deliver which features, as shown above, we feel, the report also offers several recommendations for a strong migration strategy.

Here are a few of them. Next to each one, I explain how Quest solutions will help you implement the recommendation effectively and efficiently.

Gartner recommendation How Quest can help
“Use a premigration analysis tool to provide visibility to the old environment. Use the opportunity to get rid of duplicates, and thereafter optimize the data for migration by cleansing and enhancing with metadata for greater contextualization.” The Quest Microsoft platform migration and consolidation solutions have built-in pre-migration assessments.  Furthermore, we have a suite of additional solutions to take your pre-migration clean-up to the next level. Quest solutions provide tremendous pre-migration value during tenant migration/M&A projects, including: Office 365 discovery and assessment (scoping workloads, usage, permissions, etc.); Ability to review source and target subscription licenses; and the ability to right-size permissions and access for admins of acquired entities.
“Demand your migration tool of choice so as to scale your migration with speed, accuracy and granular control — time is money, and errors are expensive.” As your go-to Office 365 migration vendor, we offer the most comprehensive portfolio of any ISV in the market, with support for a broad variety of source platforms, including Office 365, Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint, Lotus Notes, OneDrive, Box, Dropbox, Gmail/Google Drive, file shares, PST and email archives.
“Ensure the viability of a migration tool postmigration — address your content governance requirements, not just when preparing for the migration, but also as you get well underway with a cloud office platform.” The Quest Microsoft platform migration and consolidation portfolio that helped you prepare for the migration can also be used for management, security, compliance, and backup and recovery after the move is complete.
